About Us

They say it’s the fastest game on two feet. Beyond fast, it’s also tons of fun and inclusive.

It’s okay if you’ve never touched a stick before. Pretty much no one around here has until that first practice. So it takes a little bit of courage. It also take some patience and grit. All of which helps our players grow into young leaders on and off the field.

It’s competitive, but it’s a rec sport. There are no tryouts. Everyone makes the team. That said, some years require roster limits because coaches (and refs) can be difficult to find. Sign up as soon as you can!

Indeed, there are select and elite clubs out there - and many BIGLA players participate at those levels. But one beautiful thing about lacrosse is that all clubs nationwide take a break each spring, which means we can focus on building community and resilience - we support multi-sport athletes!

Other positive aspects to the game include the fact that it’s a relatively quick season with limited travel. And since we don’t live in a lacrosse “hotbed” area, there’s not as much sideline stress - we’re all learning the game and its rules together!

BIGLA is a 100% volunteer-run organization, all the way up through high school (lacrosse is not yet recognized by the WIAA!). We are supported through fundraisers, sales, and generous sponsorships. We are fortunate to have a rich lacrosse tradition on Bainbridge, and we’d love for you to join. Go Big Blue!
